The Book of Common Prayer

An integral part of our worship service is the use of the Book of Common Prayer.  The liturgy contained in the Book of Common Prayer provides the means by which the congregation can join together in public worship. Its Scripture readings, prayers, and responses provide an orderly framework within which to offer our expressions of worship to God. Through the liturgy each member of the congregation becomes a participant in offering praise to our Lord. The liturgy also provides the means by which the Holy Spirit can apply God’s Word to our hearts. The services in the Book of Common Prayer are expressed largely in the language of Holy Scripture, Psalms, and contains prayers & creeds that have been in use in the Christian Church for centuries.
